The summer's eve

The crickets tweet as daylight fades
The cheerful noise of children's play
The smell of braai's waft through way
A perfect end to a summer's day

The Haddidah's call as they fly away
My kitty turns and runs to play
The street lights shine to show the way
To venture home or go and catch the game

The quiet eve brings rest and peace
It is now that work does cease
The air plane flies over high
The time is near for hello or goodbye

The pose by Barbara Anderson

He looks up high, he looks down low
All to escape the gaze of the desired pose
The lens he fears is comming near
To capture an aloof furry kitty-bear

He little knows how much that pose
Will bring joy to those
Who behold this cute
And funny shoot
