Sipho's letter to Truworths

LETTER TO TRUWORTHS IN JOHANNESBURG
Dear Sir/Madam
I acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 7 July 2008 in which for the 3rd time, you request that I pay the monies owed to you. I first want you to know that by no means do I dispute my debt and I intend to pay as soon as possible. However I would like to bring to your attention that you are not my only creditor. I have many more creditors, quite as honorable and important as you, and whom I wish to pay too. That is why, each month, I throw all the names of my creditors into a hat and draw one randomly. The one drawn is paid immediately. I hope that yours will come out shortly.
Sincerely Yours,
Sipho
PS: I regret to inform you that given the harsh and threatening tone of your last letter, you will not be taking part in the next three draws.

The night is far spent

The most beautiful piece of biblical writing ever: Romans 13v11-14

And do this, knowing the time, that now is high time to awake out of our sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Let us walk properly as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Eagle

The Eagle has the longest lifespan among birds
It can live up to 70 years
To reach this age it must make a hard decision
In its 40’s, it’s long and flexible talons
Can no longer grab prey which serves as food
Its long and sharp beak becomes bent
Its old age and heavy wings
Due to their thick feathers
Becomes stuck to its chest
Making it difficult to fly
The eagle is left with only two options:
Die Or go through a process of change lasting 150 days
The process requires that the eagle flies to a mountain top
And sits on its nest
There the eagle knocks its beak against the rock
Until it plucks it out
After plucking it out the eagle will wait
For a new beak to grow back
Then it will pluck out its talons
When the new talons grow back
The eagle starts plucking its old age feathers
After five months the eagle take its famous flight of rebirth
And lives for 30 more years

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings of eagles
They shall run and not be weary
They shall walk and not faint

The perfect partner
Is the one who doesn’t expect
Their partner to be perfect

My Space by Barbara Anderson

What a joy to have a space where I can let my hair down
To let my heart frown or vent and calm down

What a joy to know his peace and just be
To be free to be me with no one telling me how to be

What a joy to be my own person
To know his strength and never question
That he truly has a plan for me
And I can release all my cares to him and be free

Faults

Women have many faults
Men only have two
Everything they say
Everything they do

He fights for me

He fights for me because he knows he should
He fights for me because to him it is good
He must protect his master against all enemies

This pint sized bundle of fur
Knows nothing but instinct
How could he know
That I'm more than twice his size
When all he can see is the love in my eyes

Pre-emptive Prayer Answering

Ge 24:12 Then he prayed, "O LORD, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
Ge 24:13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water.
Ge 24:14 May it be that when I say to a girl, 'Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,' and she says, 'Drink, and I'll water your camels too'—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master."
Ge 24:15 Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder.

In these verses Abraham's servant thinks his prayers are answered immediately, however God actually answered his prayer long before he even prayed it in order for Rebekah to appear as he was praying. How cool is that :)
